Dear Visitor:
Welcome to the UHIA's website! I'm honored to be the 2018-2019 President of this unique trade association. It's unusual in the health insurance industry, but the members of UHIA meet together regularly to discuss the nuances of legislative and regulatory issues while competing with one another for business in Utah (and doing so in compliance with federal and state law relating to anti-competitive behavior and anti-trust law).
There are good reasons why the the UHIA has remained a vital and vibrant organization for many years. The UHIA's Executive Director and the representatives from member companies are sought out for comment, positions, and frank, honest discussion about legislative and regulatory proposals. Because each member company has varied interests and diverse viewpoints, coming to an agreeable consensus is difficult at times, but the UHIA members attempt to speak with a single voice and provide focus on issues that affect the entire health insurance industry. In the words of Thomas Jefferson, "The boisterous sea of liberty indeed is never without a wave."
If you or your organization would like to learn more about the UHIA or apply to join as a member, please contact our Executive Director, Kelly Atkinson at 801-673-2861.
Sincerely,
Russell Trujillo
UHIA President 2019-20
